I'm currently based in Chicago, Illinois. 🌭
Work
I work at a restaurants technology startup, and I've spent the last six years working in this space (at two different companies). For most of those six years I've been in a product facing role where I was building things directly used by restaurant operators and customers (reservations, menu management tools, Kiosk self-serve ordering). In 2026, I moved to a different role where I now get to work on platform initiatives that support engineers in product facing roles. I've been excited about this new type of work, as I've wanted to transition to working on platform level things because I think some of the technical challenges in this layer can be interesting.
Side projects
A lot of my spare attention currently goes to public transit. Chicago Transit Alerts is a platform I built to track service quality in Chicago – it's essentially an automated system that constantly samples bus and train locations and infers buncing, ghosting, service gaps, and other issues. It also offers Bluesky bots as well. After refining this platform I extended it to Atlanta (Atlanta Transit Alerts), another city I'm intimately familiar with. Some folks have even begun deploying the platform for other cities like Columbus, Ohio!
Additionally, CTA Bus Bingo is a bus trip planner I recently built to track bus routes I've ridden and make it easier to ride ones I haven't before (I have a goal of riding every bus route in Chicago). Briefings is a collection of scripts I use to print music, transit, schedule, and weather information on a receipt printer in my home.

Things I'm currently reading and listening to can be found on the /reading and /listening pages (also at the top of this page). Recent photos I've taken also appear at /photos, which I often upload directly from my phone.
Otherwise
These days I'm pretty focused on getting better at the Cello (I've been playing for two years) and Viola (I've been playing for one year). I'm hoping to begin re-learning the Violin in about a year (I played growing up but stopped at the end of high school). I'm also working on a followup to my 2024 album I SEE YOU IN EVERYTHING.
